A Grassroot Campaign Effort Thrown Away... Literally

GEORGE H. W. BUSH SUPPORTS OBAMA?

Grassroots Campaign Art

Wikipedia's definition of Yarn Bombing:
Yarn bombing, yarnbombing, yarnstorming, guerrilla knitting, urban knitting or graffiti knitting is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk.

A Houston Yarn Bomber, known as the Unity Yarn Bomber, spent years planning for and creating this very piece. Many long hours, late nights, and cramped hands fostered this larger than life sweater for George H. W. Bush as a piece of grassroots campaign public art.

The sweater was installed the night of October 6th, a surprisingly chilly early October night for Houston, TX. Pictures were taken at 7:30am. Houston's News Teams were anonymously tipped and yet did nothing. By noon, the piece was anonymously taken down and placed in a nearby trash can. The Unity Yarn Bomber's many hours, hard work, and essentially Obama's HOPE was literally thrown away. What a shame.
